Inspiration
Kramade comes form an old project idea where the aim was to consult talented designers in the production of their products and to connect them with local manufacturers. In the current context of the pandemic, Spain, as well as other countries, needs more than ever to get medical supplies quickly. Since up until now most of the European countries have been importing all these products from China and other countries, there is a huge need for creating a local ecosystem of this type of industry. For this reason, the spanish industry has to adapt and change the management of products and the processes of manufacture.
What it does
Kramade is a platform that integrates three procedures, the first starts from companies specialized in product design of essential products, specially medical, who could already have a finished working product, the second one reworks the design of those products (pieces, assemblies, material...) and adaps them for decentralized manufacturing processes and finally offers a catalogue of those products as HaaS (Hardware as a Service) to public entities.
How we built it
It will be an intuitive on-line platform where different type of users can login. Depeding on the profile of the user, they will be able to upload their designs to get assessed by us and manage their catalogue of products, or in case of a public entity, they will be able to buy the products that will be produced as close as the nearest fabrication space location allows, and with the technology or production process that the designer has determined.
Challenges we ran into
One big challange that we want to tackle is to include as fast as possible those essential products that are on high demand, as well as to meet the expectations from the public entities to have their buy-in on a yearly license of the product catalogue.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
With Kramade we have gained experience and know-how in reverse engineering, materials, 3d manfucture as well as other decentralised processes. In addition to that, we ran a crowdfunding campaign successfully and launched two products to market.
What we learned
We learned how to redesign the product itself for its efficient production.
What's next for Kramade
Kramade wants to be part of the industry that impulses the manufacture of essential products locally.
