Inspiration
The struggling student life was our inspiration. We thought that constantly wasting food before the weekly shop was extremely bad for the environment. We sought to change that and also provide an exciting way to try out new recipes.
What it does
It allows the user to update the web app with ingredients they have available to them. The web app will then check our database and suggest recipe ideas for you to use. Along with an image of the meal, description, cooking duration and nutritional value.
How we built it
We built it using JavaScript, node.js, express.js and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled to decide whether to use an API or create our own database from scratch using web scrapping. We also initially struggled to link the front end and backend. We are also all elementary in our programming usage so we had to look up most of our information online.
