Inspiration
We were inspired by our bad sense of direction.
What it does
LIP (Location-based Information Provider) gives tourists suggestions based on patterns collected by the people who live in the area. This way, tourists can visit every landmark to maximize their time there.
How we built it
The front-end of the application was built in java using Android Studio while the backend server was coded using Django and SQLite.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was the fact that we set our standards too high. This made it very hard for us to finish on time. Another issue we faced was one with sickness. Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 of our members were sick and constantly tired which slowed down productivity for us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that the backend turned out being a well designed and easily interfaceable API.
What we learned
We learned about the difficulties of Android development.
What's next for LIP
Polishing the GUI of the app and releasing it to the world!
