Inspiration
We were inspired by the industrial capabilities of drone-based delivery systems. Therefore, by incorporating the LEAP Motion controller into our drone, we created a new benchmark for remote-free flying.
What it does
The LEAP Copter is a gesture-based, hand-controlled drone that uses LEAP Motion API.
How we built it
Node.js, Visual Studio, Cylon.js, Leap Motion
Challenges we ran into
Incorporating the correct algorithms to fine-tune controls, math related to input capture, and learning Node.js. We also attempted to add wireless, gesture-controlled claws using an Arduino, xBee, and motor shield; however, the weight carrying capacity of the drone was insufficient and we had to proceed without the added features.

Smooth capture of hand gestures and Node.js backend.

What's next for Leap Copter
We plan on using a more powerful drone that is capable of carrying the additional weight of the claw
