Inspiration

Students are often cramming youtube videos or lectures to prepare for their exams.

What it does

We came up with an idea to create a study buddy online that watches videos for you and create study guides based on the summary.

How we built it

We split up our team to work on frontend, backend, setting up Vectara and CockroachDB.

Challenges we ran into

We were unfamiliar with the technologies we were using, so understanding the capabilities required some research from us. Additionally, with the very complex backend, there was some integration challenges, but we were able to assess the issues and tackle them one-by-one.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We started with a roadmap that was fairly conservative and were able to hit a bunch of stretch goals. Our website is exactly what we envisioned and we are proud of that.

What we learned

We learned a ton of new technologies, such as Vectara's LLM and Cockroachdb. Additionally, utilizing many different APIs allowed us to expand our confidence in the space.

What's next for learn stream

We want to improve the layout and design of the site, as well as make it more seamless for new people to try out the service. There is much more we could add to make the study process as optimized as it could be.
