Inspiration
We came up with this app learning math properties because kids at an early age have to learn how to add and multiply. So we made it easier by using images and TextToSpeech to improve their learning skills in math. This is important because some kids can't learn by just numbers and symbols.
What it does
This app teaches kids that have trouble learning math in class or at home; adding and multiplying numbers
How we built it
We build our app with MIT App Inventor 2, using TextFields, Buttons, Images, ImageSprites, Canvas, and Labels to make it pretty. In the blocks(code) we use variables, controls, procedures, and logics to bring our app to life.
Challenges we ran into
At the begging we didn't have any errors, but as we develop our app we started having problems; the app started crashing, buttons didn't work, we couldn't set a lower speech rate, the calculator didn't add up/ multiply numbers..., but not only that, also we had problems with the ImageSprite, it didn't move where is was supposed to move and crashed the app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
While we were developing our app the one main accomplishment we are proud of is that we got to fix all our errors and making sure that the app runs fast and smooth without giving problems.
What we learned
We learn how to collaborate with each other as a team, and how to improve the app, for example; design, coding..., and new improvements on what to add to the app to make it better.
What's next for Learning Math Properties
What we are going to do is make a big update, that is, adding division and subtraction with a calculator for each of them. Moreover, we are going to make some improvements which are a minor update, adding the square root. Above all, we are giving you problems to solve in which answers you can find and learn them using our app.
