Inspiration

Business owners are primarily white and male. I wanted to make it easier for people with great ideas to get mentorship as to how to make them come to life.

What it does

Currently, it's mostly front-end code and can create user accounts, but cannot match them. In theory, mentee or mentor accounts would be recommended to each user based on what their profiles look like (industry, experience, needed mentoring, etc.).

How we built it

I used Qoom.io and the languages JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

I found it difficult to work with HTML forms. I had to switch the platform I was using from Glitch to Qoom in order to use their survey API. Also, I struggled with using JavaScript for the first time, since I didn't know how to use a lot of the code words or make the functions work with HTML. I did manage to make my website a little interactive, and I think all this practice will help me code better.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was my first full website I’ve ever coded. I got a lot more coding done than I thought I would have been able to do in two days!

What we learned

I learned how to code a user interface and how to collect user input from forms. I also learned how to make a few simple JavaScript functions in my test.html file, even though they weren’t used in the actual website.

What's next for Light Bulb

I would want to refine my UI and make it possible for the website to match accounts based on their compatibility.
