Inspiration

Digital jewelry is not bounded to physics and one of my favorite things to create is liquid simulations thus the perfect match is presented. Gaming is another source of inspiration, and with such, I imagine how digital accessories will be implemented in our daily lives.

What it does

This liquid bracelet functions as an accessory/compliment for your real life outfit.

How I built it

Simulation made in Houdini, exported as Virtual Animated Textures, and put together in Lens Studio.

Challenges we ran into

Export settings, proper timing, occlusion, size limits.

Accomplishments that I proud of

Liquids on AR filters! I finally learned some Houdini too!

What we learned

You can compress the normal map but position map not really I was only able to export 1024 VATs, my goal was to export at a higher resolution and then compress for Lens Studio.

What's next for Liquid Bracelets

Imagine a mood ring functionality in which the filter connects to real time data of your health/current mood. More animation states: Idle, Attack, Defense, etc.
