Inspiration

Our goal with Livance is to create a platform that makes it easier to keep track of the health of those close to us. In the fast-paced world we live in, it can be challenging to stay updated on the well-being of our loved ones. With Livance, our aim is to bridge this gap and provide a convenient and accessible solution to stay informed about the health of our friends and family members.

What it does

Livance is a social platform that enables the user to monitor the health of their friends and family members. The user can log any health related events, such as illness, injuries, or even their feelings to their profile, where it can be seen by their friends and family members.

How we built it

We utilized Next.JS, a React framework, and HTML5 for website structure, CSS3 for styling, and JavaScript for back-end development to create Livance.

Challenges we ran into

Being first-time hackers and new to these technologies presented a number of challenges for us. . Learning to use React alongside the new syntax for all the languages was quite challenging. We ran into a lot of issues while developing features, such as displaying a health history and uploading images. We were able to overcome these challenges through the help pg online resources and experienced personal mentors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Considering that all three of us were novices with these technologies, alongside being first time hackers, we're all extremely proud that we were able to build a functioning website. It's also an accomplishment that we completed our first hackathon. We are proud of the effort we put in, to which none of us could have expected that we would finish the hackathon with a product this well made for our skill level.

What we learned

We gained a solid foundation in React, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as front and back-end development. It's not often that we get to collaborate on projects, however CruzHacks gave us an opportunity to learn how to work as a team and build technical projects from the ground up.

What's next for Livance

Our vision for Livance, in an ideal world, was to create a comprehensive health and wellness platform that incorporates social media-like features and personal accounts, including messaging capabilities, a personal notes section, and a community of users with shared health interests. Our main goal for Livance was to provide a platform for users to stay connected with the health and wellness of their loved ones. The features we envisioned to support this goal include the ability to set and track personal health and wellness goals, store important personal information such as insurance details and gym memberships, and gift unique health and wellness experiences to others. While we are extremely proud of the work we've done, we'd like to implement some of the features that we initially thought of while designing this project.
