Inspiration

What inspired us to create this is thinking of how many students would benefit from this. This helps students match with people they are compatible with which helps people meet new people but also helps people make new connections.

How we built it

Frontend: We built this using HTML and CSS which helps with the user experience with a sleek, clean layout, making it easy for students to navigate through the website. Backend: Typescript and Python.

Challenges we ran into

In the backend we were using Java to communicate with HTML but we didn't know that we couldn't connect them to the frontend part of our code so it took a really long time until we found out that we couldn't and we had to redo that whole process and switched it to Python and Typescript.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to implement Gemini AI API.

What we learned

We learn how to implement Gemini AI API into our GitHub and codespaces.

What's next for Livi

We plan to further our development by adding more features to our website and making it a more functional website so that people can start using this app to connect with other students and start advertising it locally to the neighboring community colleges. This way students can start finding a warm, friendly home.
