Inspiration

Did you know that ...

👉 In India, there are many groceries store (approx 12 million). During our initial research, we found that post-covid, Kirana stores got affected, their revenue and business.

👉 Covid-19 has challenged the norms of society in various manners. In similar concern, the online e-commerce grocery market has witnessed a +233% rise in sales post covid-19 because people are less willing to visit grocery stores in person.

👉 During and post lockdown, groceries, and essentials shops continue to function. But, there is a lot of disturbance in the grocery shopping process.

👉 We are only targeting Kirana and small shops not big super markets.

What it does

LocalShop is a mobile application that helps people to shop groceries from a nearby shop with all the covid-19 protocols.


How we built it

LocalShop

👉 My team made the low-fidelity wireframe on Figma

👉 Then once we got the confirmation from the team developer, we design the high-fidelity screens on Figma

👉 Then developer team started the coding with android studio

👉 We have done the frontend part of the application

👉 Java

👉 XML

👉 Figma

Note - Due to only 1 developer in our team, we weren't able to do the backend part.

Challenges we ran into

👉 It was difficult to coordinate with team members due to different timezone but we tried our best and finished our project on time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

👉 We are proud of finishing it to the frontend and design part and submitting it to this hackathon.

What we learned

👉 How to work in a short period of time

👉 Coordination with the team due to time zone difference

👉 It is always important to see the expertise of the team members before selecting anyone

👉 We can connect with more Kirana shop owner

👉 We can use the cloud to store all the bills, transactions data

👉 About accessibility

👉 Implementing a website naming the local shop

👉 Option of dark and light mode for the benefit of the people
