Inspiration
We plaied a story-based game before called Lanota. We really likde this game, and today's event also has a storyline, so we dicide to create a game with a story based on today's prompt(it's short:l), and has a game in it.
What it does
Basicly it's a game with a simpl story in it. The story is seperated in two parts, the first part will start before you play game. To unlock the second half of the story, there is a mission for it. When your win up the game 10 times, the story will automatically unlock for you. And that's also end of this game. So now you might ask what's the game? After you click "start " and choose a diffculty, the srceen should pop up some "prower stations" based on the diffculty choosen. The prower stations should be green at begining, while the game is going on, the prower stations should showly turn to red. You job is to keep those prower station green before the time run out by click on them. . If you successfuly keeping the "prower" on, you will get one win. If the prower station all turn red before the time run out, you will lose the game.
How we built it
We built this game using GitHub, which is what we learned in the workshop in the morning. Then we used some online sources and artificial intelligence to find some source and added them into the code we have now.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the major challenges is when we are testing our first version of code, we cannot connect the html file to the css file. We also had some problems on editing the appearance of the website and find the moving background, which we finally decided to use an AI to generate. We also had spent some time on the amount and time limit of the game to make it have a proper level of difficulty for the player.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We had created a pretty good and more complexed story line based on the given prompt of the theme “Lockdown”, and we have a hidden ending of the story if you play 10 rounds of the game.
What we learned
We are learning a lot in today's event. We learned how to build a personal website by using Github, we also learned how to build a simple game by using python and VS Code.
What's next for Lockdown Survivar
This time we didn't prepare a lot for this event, so next time we want to get all basic knowledge understand(at least know how to build a game).
