LOWD is a personal streaming platform where you can post your thoughts in short format, just like Twitter in the CoinEx Smart Chain

Inspiration

LOWD was inspired by Twitter but in the blockchain, so your thoughts are truly uncensorable, you really are in control of your own privacy and personal data

What it does

It allows you to post content in short format with all the social aspects of it, with followers, likes, replies, etc keeping the users engaged in social interaction

How we built it

We built LOWD using NodeJS on the server and PostgreSQL for caching and replication, HTML, JS, CSS as a web client, and Solidity for smart contract interaction where all the content is stored

Challenges we ran into

Likes and follows become annoying as they ask for wallet confirmation if we want to store them in the blockchain, some wallets allow to auto-sign without asking the user for confirmation which would be a great benefit with less visual interruptions

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Storing all the personal content and social interaction in one individual contract per user is the greatest achievement we're proud of, as everybody can create their own streaming contract and be totally independent

What we learned

We learned that CoinEx is 100% compatible with Ethereum network and tools so the development process was a total pleasure

What's next for LOWD.me

In version 2.0 we will add more social interaction like hashtags, mentions, trending and search capabilities to make it a true competitor to the existing big platforms, stay tuned!
