Inspiration
During the course of the pandemic, we noticed that a lot of high schoolers and adults alike had problems related to mental health, and most of these problems stem from not having a place to organize one's thoughts and feelings in order to come to a closure with the problems they faced during the pandemic. This is why we decided on making an app that can be the place of solace to everyone and anyone.
What it does
The app consists of three pages: home, diary, and profile. The home page is where we have motivational quotes to raise the spirits of the users. We then have the diary page where the user can type down their thoughts and there are tabs under the notes where they can adjust their happiness and productivity on a given day. The note area is extendable, which we thought might help with encouraging the users to write more.
How we built it
We built it using expo and we shared a common reply.it page where we can copy and paste our code snippets to integrate our parts together.
Challenges we ran into
We had to learn react native on the fly, and that was definitely a challenge we faced. We initially planned on making a functional app, but we were only able to make the wireframe for the given time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Although we thought learning react was a challenge, we found it rewarding at the same time. We were glad that we were able to learn a new language along the way:)
What we learned
we learned the basics of react, and making this app encouraged us to continue developing the app so that it can be functional one day.
What's next for LucidPeach
We plan on continuing to develop LucidPeach and hopefully fulfilling our goal to help people struggling with mental health-related issues.
