What it does
Macrome is a macro tracking extension. If you order groceries online, or find your recipes online, it is a great one stop shop for all your macro tracking needs. It has detailed analysis and a full history of your purchases/meals, all without any effort on your part. So you can focus on your health, and forget the hassle.
How we built it
It is a chrome extension, along with a website. The extension is built with Javascript and React. The dashboard is built with Next.js, with Chakra UI as a helper library. The backend is built with Flask and Python, and Firebase as the database. The macro data is found using the Edamam API.
What we learned
I learned about extension development, and full stack integration, with back-end, front-end and extension. I also learnt scraping, graphing and other issues I ran into as I built the app.
What's next for Macrome
A mobile app, and maybe something to scan your in-person meals for complete tracking.
