Inspiration
There were huge appearances of home entrepreneurs during covid-19. Female business owners have their inhibitions of going out and collecting the resources they need. Their hand-made products are not valued as it should be In the market. Manell plans to step into the shoes of a resource provider while supplying ordered kits at doorsteps by taking various vendors on board and help them to get a wider audience through this platform. The sellers through manell would get better inventory, payment gateways, and customer service and also would be able to focus more on the quality of what they have to offer.
What it does
Manell will be an app and web-based product, providing flexibility to people running a home-based businesses. This app and webs based tech product will bring all the home-based businesses in one platform and help to exhibit their products to a wider audience.
Problems
- No platform for talented home entrepreneurs of Pakistan, especially women.
- No specific platform for users to find their desired customized products. It's all over the place on social media platforms.
- Less reliable to order through social media pages as admins put down negative reviews in order to maintain a false good image in front of new visitors.
- Marketing and maintaining social media inorder to get followers and engaging customers by posting regularly.
- No way to monitor business trends of creative and home-based market.
- Talent wastage due to lack of resources.
- No proper access to delivery and payment methods available.
- When it's about scaling up the business it's difficult to manage orders through instagram and facebook chats. And, most people can't afford or find it difficult to develop their own e-shop.
Also, Many home based business owners are unaware about their entrepreneurial personality type and limitations. This restricts them to manage their resources and work on their areas of weakness. For example, if an individual is great at sales but less experienced with bookkeeping, he should instead focus on sales and hire someone else to handle the books. But in many of the cases home based businesses lack this support. This is where Manell comes to play its part!
How we built it

Innovations(Making Manell more than an e-commerce platform)
- Providing design and photography solutions to sellers to help them sell their products right.
- Utilizing recyclable material for making wall arts and other creative material - low cost & environment friendly
- A regular blog to keep customers engaged (i.e: Helping them what products are suitable to buy for which event), and also promoting the creative talent, trends and culture.
- Data analytics and releasing a quarterly report to tell people about the creative/home-based market trends

We have built our prototype for users who'll be visiting our app and have made onboarding for sellers easier.

What's next for Manell
- Bringing vendors on board who can help us provide kits/raw material to home entrepreneurs at their doorsteps for running their business smoothly
- Selling the perishable home-made products i.e: customized cakes for events, food and snacks by home chefs.
- Home entrepreneurs community/forum where they can talk about their experiences and ways for running their businesses smoothly.
- Scaling up the business to sell products to international buyers
- Manell can later integrate gateways for selling products to foreign customers so that Pakistani entrepreneurs will get a better return on their services.
