Inspiration
Seeing the popularity of the school and its extracurricular activities, we wanted to make an easy way for people to represent their home high school with pride. We also saw different ways of communication for different events. We decided to create an app to streamline this communication.
What it does
MAPalapan is a project where students can access school resources, such as the school store, the calendar of the school year, etc. The school store allows students to reserve their goods online, so that when they go to school the next day, they will be able to pick it up in the morning. In addition, students will have access to a calendar with important events, such as school cancellations, final exams, AP exams, etc.
How we built it
We used React Native, Wix, and Expo Go to create our app and website.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we encountered was debugging erroneous code along with prototyping our app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We am proud that we were able to finish the code and UI for our idea.
What we learned
We learned how to properly work as a compatible team that communicated properly.
What's next for
This app can advance in the future to include stores of other schools or to develop other programs within this one, like making the map of the school interactive, in order to create an all-in-one, immersive school app.
