MarketSnipe was born from a desire to easily find market opportunities. I can't hold it, I'm lazy. So when we try to brain storm ideas for a possible product for this hackathon, it can get hard. That's why the idea for MarketSnipe came naturally when we noticed the capabilities of Yellowcake. Their API helps you scrape data from the web, and pull the results in a simple manner. We saw we could leverage this in order to create an app to help aspiring designers to find relevant ideas.

What it does

When a user enters their raw prompt, Gemini takes it and fills out a template suited for Yellocake's API, allowing us to scrape Reddit for relevant and recent posts where user's display pain points in a relevant field. Users can then directly reach out to naturally interact with potential clients and market their ideas.

If the user doesn't have a current product, they can explore potential market gaps. Using the same logic, we scrape Reddit and find general trending pain points, then generate potential product ideas for the user.

What we want to do next

(i. e. what we didn't have time to do in the hackathon)

  • Allow users to directly reply to posts through the app
  • Expand scraping to different social media sites (X, Instagram, Facebook, etc...)
