Inspiration

Cooking for a single person can be a struggle. You end up with far too many ingredients leftover that you don't know what to do with. This struggle inspired MealMatcha.

What it does

Our application allows users to input ingredients they might have lying around and gives them recipes based on the input. This reduces not only food waste but also a trip to the shops! We tried to make a fun and engaging UI in order to be more accessible to users than traditional recipe books.

How we built it

We built our application mainly using Python, Flask and React. We utilized Gemini API to produce recipes.

Challenges we ran into

In the past 24 hours we ran into many challenges. Our biggest challenge was getting the backend to interact with the frontend.

What's next for MealMatcha

A future plan is to add images to make the recipe more appealing. This also gives a helpful visual.
