Inspiration
The cost of health care in the country is a deterrent for many, and for those from low-income families, it is almost out of reach, especially if the treatment necessitates hospitalization, surgery, or expensive treatments. Heart problems, cochlear implants, and kidney disease are frequently not covered by health insurance. Furthermore, even for the conditions that they do cover, several insurers have set a ceiling on expenses such as patient bed charges, surgery costs, and doctor's fees, which may not cover the entire cost of treatment. A medical emergency can deplete a family's financial, mental, and physical resources, leaving them helpless and despondent. Borrowing money is a common way for families to get themselves into debt. Med-aid is dedicated to raising funds for such families, sharing their stories, and providing free blood banks to anyone.
What it does
We help provide free services such as collecting blood banks, providing free resources, organizing events to promote fundraisers for low income citizens.
How we built it
I used HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
It was very difficult to get everything done in such a short amount of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud to have completed this project which has the potential to bring change.
What we learnt
I learnt more about the medical situation of my country and how flawed it currently is.
What's next for Med-Aid?
I hope to raise some funds to actually assist people. I also plan to collect at least 30 volunteers and contact a nearby hospital to help a maximum number of people.
