Inspiration

The desire to improve access to quality healthcare

Locates local healthcare providers, and lists their info and a perfomance rating based on government data

Next.js, React, Node, Google Maps API

Using a "SQL-like" query language nobody has used before, and parsing a massive dataset that our hardware couldn't handle

Connecting everything (front and back ends)

APIs can be tedious to work with, especially those with unconventional access methods

Add location via the location API in browser, allow for text lookup

I worked across the full stack, setting up the Next.js project and building most of the front end. Additionally, I demonstrated endpoint routing so that my team members could work on the backend.

I helped with the front-end. I did styling with certain elements and contributed to displaying locations using Google Maps API.

Andy Zhang
I worked on the back-end using Node and Next.js. It was my first time using these and VSCode and GitHub. It was a little intimidating and I struggled a bit, but I learned a lot. I also used R to manipulate the data.
