Inspiration
Shadowing at the ER and seeing the need for quick access to patient's information.
What it does
Allows users to keep their medical information updated so that when needed it can be quickly accessed by medical professionals.
How I built it
I used a mixture of javascript and html. I relied on the following frameworks: bootstrap and jquery.
Challenges I ran into
Learning the frameworks was a challenge because of the short amount of time. Also, I used firebase which I hadn't used before.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
That the product works and I can see my idea functioning. I would love to continue to build on it and see if it can be used in the real world.
What I learned
I learned that given the right technology and effort, some problems can be solved quite easily.
What's next for MediAid
The next step would be to have the qr codes be printed 3D or lasercut to be included on keychains or jewelry. Also, I would build an app so that medical professionals could access the information using maybe the patient's fingerprint. Basically, just find more ways to get the information needed easily available to those who help save lives. .
