Inspiration
We were inspired by conversations Sipan and Tunde had with doctors who had expressed frustration with how traditional and boring medical education is. In addition, from Tunde’s experience as a doctor who needs to regularly keep his medical knowledge up to date he found the current methods very tedious.
What it does
MediiVerse provides a fun, engaging and immersive learning experience for medical students and doctors. It does this by creating interactive simulated medical games and challenges which makes the users enjoy the learning process. It also provides a social element by letting users create challenges as well as leaderboards which stimulates healthy competition amongst users.
How we built it
We built our product using a combination of photoshop for the images and wix for the website.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenges we faced were
- Deciding on the best way to build our MVP
- Getting interviews with medical professionals
- Obtaining research on the size of the market
- Deciding on how best to differentiate our product from current offerings
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Identifying a need after multiple hours of brainstorming with each other and then coming up with a viable solution to the problem which potential target users love
- Building a visual MVP of what our product will be
What we learned
We learned that this product has a market from our discussions with doctors during this challenge who were very excited to try it. We also learnt the importance of adding a social element and incorporating competition via things like leaderboard and challenges. Finally, we learnt the importance of ensuring regular notifications and reminders are sent to users so that they continue to engage with and learn using the product.
What's next for MediiVerse
Building out the rest of our MVP and securing funding to incorporate our unique product features into our platform.
