We are an international team, that started this project wondering how the Finnish health care works, rapidly we realized that in every country the system works in a different way.
We thought that the problem was about how to book appointments when you are in a different country, and we realized that there are many other solutions in this area, we just did not want to be another one.
After that, we found a missing role in the ecosystem, even if you are the owner of your data, you can't easily share with a doctor in other countries, because they don't have access to your national electronic health record. The medical information is fragmented.
What we want to do: create a bridge between the patients, their data and doctors all over the world, it should not matter where you are.
Medport is a system that can carry your medical history wherever you go, it can be updated by yourself or the doctors, helping doctors in other countries that are not familiar with your situation and help yourself to explain them the most relevant about your health.
We are consolidating data into a useful interface, making portable and accessible everywhere.
One of the main challenges collecting the data from various sources, such as EHR and doctor, The languages of the pre-existing information.
We are proud of being able to narrow enough our problem and identifying a possible solution for a missing service.
We learned the importance of communicating between the doctor and patient, and that has a significant influence on the quality of the treatment.
What's next for Medport? finding new ways to import relevant information.
