Inspiration
Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often face challenges in providing effective and personalized customer service due to limited resources and technical expertise. Observing this struggle inspired us to create MetaBot, a platform designed to empower SMEs by automating the creation of customized chatbots. Our goal is to help businesses enhance their customer service experience without requiring extensive technical knowledge or additional staff.
What it does
MetaBot is an intelligent chatbot platform that allows SMEs to create tailored chatbots effortlessly. By uploading an Excel file with product details and answering a few customization questions, businesses can generate a chatbot that can:
- Answer customer queries about product availability, sizes, and prices.
- Provide personalized product recommendations.
- Inform customers about ongoing promotions.
- Guide customers through the purchase process.
For example, a shoe shop owner can use MetaBot to create a chatbot that helps customers find the right shoe size, check availability, and make purchases, all while providing excellent customer service.
How we built it
MetaBot was developed using a combination of modern web technologies and AI tools:
- Frontend: React and TailwindCSS for a responsive and user-friendly interface.
- Backend: Django and SQLite for a robust and scalable server-side infrastructure.
- AI Technologies: Google AI Studio for creating and training the chatbot models.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of MetaBot, we encountered several challenges:
- Ensuring the platform is user-friendly for business owners with no technical background.
- Integrating AI models that provide accurate and relevant responses to customer queries.

- The value of continuous feedback and iteration in product development.
What's next for MetaBot
Looking ahead, we plan to:
- Add Orders section so that when ever the customer orders a product, it will be displayed in orders section.
- Add images to chat so that the users know what they are buying exactly.
- Make chatbot responses faster.
- Continue refining the platform based on user feedback to ensure it meets the evolving needs of businesses.
