Inspiration

In today’s fast-paced world, balancing work, school, and personal life makes it easy to overlook proper nutrition. We researched the seven most common vitamin deficiencies and realized how widespread they are. This inspired us to build a simple yet effective app that helps users track their nutrient intake in a fun and engaging way, ensuring they stay as healthy as possible.

What it does

MicroMeter allows users to: ✅ Log their daily nutrient intake to track essential vitamins and minerals. ✅ Set custom nutrient goals to stay on top of their health. ✅ Receive AI-driven recommendations for personalized nutrient tracking. ✅ Stay engaged with a gamified approach to encourage healthy habits.

How we built it

We built MicroMeter using:

Expo React Native for a seamless cross-platform mobile experience. Clerk for user authentication and secure account management. AsyncStorage for efficient local data handling. Reanimated & Lottie animations to enhance the user experience.

Challenges we ran into

🔹 Optimizing data storage & retrieval – ensuring user logs and nutrient goals persist correctly. 🔹 Creating an engaging UI – balancing functionality with an intuitive, visually appealing design. 🔹 Handling diverse dietary needs – making the app flexible enough for different users.
