Inspiration

Our teams previous experiences with complicated and over functional CRM tools led us to wanting to make a simplistic and minimalist CRM tool.

What it does

Our project allows the user to keep track of leads and client connections in a sales environment. This product is especially useful for teams that do cold calls regularly to help them keep track of their probably very large customer base. Certain features include adding notes to connections, contact info, sales status (closed, in progress, etc).

How we built it

We utilized our previous HTML and CSS knowledge to build a solid frontend as well as using MySQL for our database needs. We originally started developing our hosting and database needs around AWS but that proved to be rather expensive for the scale of our project. Therefore we switched to an alternative and cheaper hosting solution.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of troubles compiling the backend and frontend teams together once each of our code projects were completed, we came across a lot of compatibility issues, with the help of the mentors we could overcome this and learn about new tools.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

We learned the importance of keeping track of who is doing what, we utilised GitHubs project tab to make sure we were allocating tasks efficiently as we noticed the first couple of hours were being spent wasted on unnecessary tasks.

What's next for microSales

We are currently very close to completing our sales analytic feature that allows for management team to easily visualize sales data through the use of graphs and bar charts. This is especially useful for management teams that want to monitor a sales teams productivity.

We are also in the process of adding a quote calculator to facilitate client quote requests.
