Inspiration

Have you ever lost your friend in rock concert, shopping mall or in Junction? And end up searching them for quite a while? Or have you ever waited in a line for hours and hours? So basicaly we were inspired by the long lines to get the food that we did not get, the constant mentor hunting and the ability to spend countless hours searching, waiting and looking.

What it does

  1. tracks your location
  2. lets you see the location of your people of interest
  3. schedules your time for you, based on your and other users interests
  4. lets you work instead of waiting in line forever
  5. lets you meet people of whoom you have similar interests with, while waiting in line
  6. lets you find your mentors and schedule meeting with them
  7. real time tracking of mentors or other people of interest

How We built it

By using RFID tags provided by FinnID By using ProximiIo tracking functions By consuming countless liters of coffee, tea and energy drinks By arguing between ourselves when we couldn't find a solution to a problem or were just cranky and starving By making our bodies exhausted to the level that coding was done in autopilot - thats why results are like they are

Challenges We ran into

Janis J:

  • teammates were not listening
  • the only driver
  • linux hickups (pretty long)
  • ran out of RAM

Niklavs:

  • Failing Gradle
  • usng object oriented language for the "first time"
  • reading a line from server, but the server was not sending a newline
  • Niklavs:~/Android-project$ sudo rm -rf

Rihards:

  • For the first time using json
  • coding socket server having no idea how to do it
  • frustration when nothing you do works as it should

Janis A:

  • windows drivers
  • hording...
  • alexa got offended...

Arnis:

  • wery fast runing out of cigarettes because Niklavs "doesnt smoke"
  • got bored
  • lost built in function id

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • decided to quit "not smoking"

  • got real knowledge on server backend

  • provided team with food, music and jokes
  • almost scored with alexa
