Inspiration
We were inspired by the lack of apps that focus on the well-being of mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, as most of the apps focus on how to care for the baby.
What it does
MomEase is a mobile app designed to connect pregnant and postpartum individuals and provide them with accurate information about the pregnancy process. The app has community fourms where users can connect with other users, tools that allow the user to track their progress, a healthcare locator, and a personalized information page.
How we built it
We conducted secondary research on exisiting pregnancy apps and issues that individuals face during pregnancy. We converted out designs to a mobile app using React and the component library MUI.
Challenges we ran into
We faced some issues with setting up the component libraries.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of utilizing MUI for resuable components.
What we learned
We learned that sometimes it's better to jump into working rather than planning ideas out for too long.
What's next for MomEase
We hope to implement functionality into more of the features, like utilizing a GeoLocation API to find nearby healthcare providers for maternal health.
