Inspiration
Being able to use AI to help us check-in with ourselves more often when talking to friends and family may not be as feasible.
What it does
Users can submit a new thought and recieve insights from AI to better understand how they're feeling, actionable suggestions, and perspective reframing to help rewire negative thought patterns.
How we built it
We built it using React with TypeScript and Tailwind for the frontend, and Expressjs for the backend. We utilized MongoDB and Gemini API to be able to fully build the features that we wanted.
Challenges we ran into
We had a limited quota with Gemini free tier so it was difficult to test and get the right prompt for our features and we were not able to test all the possibilities of Gemini API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Narrowing down on core features based on results from our user survey, as well as ideating, designing, and implementing the frontend visual design and flow.
What we learned
Frontend architecture, API integration, connecting frontend and backend
What's next for Moodlet
Integrating voice input for expressing a new thought, gentle AI voice playback using ElevenLabs API, and a mobile version of the application.
