Inspiration

After a four week Sprint it was often difficult for me (Basti) to answer the Review questions to my daily project concerning feelings. I believed it would be great to have a tool with that the hole Sprint team could register their project impressions every Sprint day.

What it does

The Scrum-Master starts a Sprint for his team. He applys some questions, that are interesting for evaluating the Sprint process. Every team member adds his answers an notes in a personal view of his moodMeter- Application. Already during the process of the Sprint the Scrum-Master can see the average mood in the team during an anonymised diagram. So the Scrum-Team can exactly evaluate the hole Sprint.

How we built it

Frontend: React Backend: Spring-boot, Java

Challenges we ran into

Originally we wanted to built the backend with Hybernate and a H2 database, that could be switched if necessary. But even though a coding-nightshift we couldn't finalize this variant. So the emergency plan had to start: A backend based on Spring-boot and Java.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • The hole Product Ideation functioned in Collaboration --> Interesting product and business case
  • Prototype of our product
  • Vision for the future

What we learned

  • It is possible to reach a goal, even if the team members leave their comfort zone during the process: Everybody tried a new teamrole/ technology without knowing if he/she can reach the goals we decided.
  • Every team member learned much about a new technology/ role.
  • An interdisciplinary team is the best condition for fast prototyping. ## What's next for moodMeter
  • Programming the View we designed for the Scrum-Master.
  • Adding another template version (ideation, paperprototype, early testing --> decision which one to program)
  • UX-Testing of our product
