Inspiration
The realisation that the water crisis is real and innovating in this domain is no longer an option but a necessity
What it does
We propose a system in which industries are connected to a common water treatment plant through a distributed ledger system, Various IOT sensors are put at the outlet pipe to measure various factors like pH, sulphide concentration, etc. All of this data is stored securely on an IOTA tangle. Analytics can be performed on this data. The companies would pay an amount proportional to the quantity and type of waste produced, which would lower the cost of waste treatment and would help in reducing the running cost of all industries.
How we built it
We designed the idea, identifying the stakeholders and their incentives to become part of the consortium. We then divided the work according to our respective strengths and worked separately on the IOT, DLT and dashboard components.
Challenges we ran into
Trying to bring the sensitivity of the sensors in a particular range IOTA Tangle crashing after a certain number of transactions initially Difficulty in setting up Microsoft Azure account with the credits
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of having learnt a number of new technologies and learning to complete the project within the stipulated time.
What we learned
We learned about the impending water crisis and it's chronic after effects. We learned how to work under immense pressure, come up upon decisions in a limited period of time. It also helped us in improving our collaboration skills.
