Inspiration

As musicians, we need constant practice to hone our skills in an engaging and entertaining way. For releasing our creativity and expressing our emotions, we need musical diversity and original contents. We found that iMuze is a great way to provide musician's like us with personalized tracks for our practice needs.

What it does

Through an engaging card game dynamic, our application allows you to create set of cards for different types of music to jam and play along with. From a range of genres, styles, and duration, you'll be able to create a personalized practice session that suits your needs. If you like your performance, you'll be able to record your own track for self-assessment, sharing with your friends, or seeing other's performances and get inspired by their style!

How we built it

We created an iOS application that employs iMuze's APIs for generating new and unique musical tracks for each session. We attempted to integrated Cloudinary unsigned upload methods to store user's recordings.

Challenges we ran into

  • Deciding on the scope of the project within the reach of the Hackathon
  • Controlling certain parameters for the music generation models, such as bpm and measure.
  • Automizing with one click the generation of the cards and the parameters for each musical track within each practice session.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

  • Usage dynamics, UX design, application architecture, data requests and data processing.
  • iMuze API integration and music generation methods

What's next for MusicGame

  • Assess future version features and improvements
  • Definition of an initial user segment to approach and promote to
  • Definition of a business model suitable for deployment
