Inspiration
what inspired us to make this website We wanted to create our own community where students could help each other learn and study more effectively in an enjoyable environment. We noticed that many teens were spending time on SNS and other entertainment. This inspired us to make this NerdyHub community so that many individuals can easily find the information they want and have fun experiences while studying. Moreover, all our team members like trying out new challenges and gaining new knowledge so we wanted to create a community where the “nerds” can join and get fun experiences and help each other.
What it does
It allows many individuals, not only students but also anyone who is interested in studying and learning new knowledge, to talk to each other, share information, notes, tips, and even tutor each other.
How we built it
We based our website on HTML, CSS, and Javascript on a website named “replit.com”
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges as it was most of our first time trying out for a programming competition, such as errors, unsatisfied designs and programs, and issues with downloading programs and connecting it to the front-end web design.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud that although it was most of our first time actually trying out on programming, we came up with this website even when it's compared with other currently existing websites and it won’t look so bad.
What we learned
It was most of our first time trying out programming and it was a very fun and entertaining experience, in which we learned a lot as we were making this NerdyHub community website. First of all, we learned a lot by looking up various YouTube videos and example scripts about website designing and how HTML programming languages work. We also learned how to connect a database to a front-end website. It was a very good experience for all of our team members to learn more about programming.
What's next for NerdyHub
We want to make improvements to our community with a better database and make sure that all parts of our website flow well with other parts of it. Also, we want to advertise our website so that many users can experience our website and get help.
