New Oregon is inspired by the retro game The Oregon Trail, but a modern twist. Instead of trying to reach a settlement in Oregon, your attempting to reach a colony in Mars named New Oregon. Kids are no longer interested in Westward Expansion. That's why new Oregon is so cool. It focuses on your journey to mars and your decision making for your family on the way there. You must ride solar winds, explore abandoned space crafts, and survive alien microbes in order to safely arrive with your family. Originally I tried to create the whole thing in Unity. I was unfortunately unsuccessful. I spent 5 hours trying but, it still wouldnt work. In order to have anything to submit, I decided to write it all in python. Even though it didn't work out like I hoped it would, I'm still really proud of how I did. I wasn't afraid to fail and I went out of my comfort zone. I plan to keep working on this project and maybe one day it will be a game you can play off unity. :)
