Inspiration
Covid-19 has already influenced our daily lives and one of the sectors it has brought enormous impact to is Education. The shift to virtual schooling has flagged the urgent need for virtual learning tools that can deliver better learning outcomes.
What it does

Class management is built into the application with ease of use central to the design process. Creating groups, assigning tasks, student visibility and management are key areas that are addressed.
How I built it
NextClass is built with Javascript, React, Websockets, NodeJS and MongoDB.
Challenges I ran into
Designing an intuitive interface that caters for teachers that may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with video streaming.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The shared whiteboard technology and instant grouping feature is an innovative solution to a common problem that teachers face when dealing with a virtual classroom.
What I learned
In the process of creating NextClass the team went through many different design iterations to offer various solutions to the challenges that online teaching currently faces.
What's next for Next Class
NextClass has the potential to change the way teachers communicate, mentor and teach groups of student across various age groups.
With its innovative, but also accessible technology the app will democratise education and will be released free of charge worldwide.
