Problem

At parties, people always have music, however there is no easy way to request a particular song, or easily add the song to the existing playlist, people have different musical preferences. People don’t want to have the awkward conversation of asking the host to change the song.

Solution

Allow for users to easily join an existing playlist/room the user has setup, and allow them to request songs via their mobile device with an .

What makes us different?

The ability to not only submit songs for the playlist, but to influence the order of the playlist.
Users will be able to select their “next hit” in the playlist by upvoting or downvoting a song in the list.
Users will be able to further influence the song list using micropayments which add more weight to the vote.

How can this be applied in other use cases?

While this concept is using the idea of music, the premise behind this has limitless potential such as:

Users at a party could be ordering pizza and ranking the pizza flavours based on user voted preference.
Voting for people in an election where candidates will be shown in the list and rankings changed based on the votes they receive.
Deciding the top 10 ideas at a hackathon which will go to the next round.

How it works

NextHit is as simple as "1.2.3"

Users firstly create a room, or join an existing room created by the host.
Users submit songs to the playlist.
Users aggregate the posts by clicking on the arrows to upvote or downvote the song. To further influence the ranking, users will be able to use micropayments to give their vote more weight.

Competitors

Potential competitors in this space we have identified are Touchtunes and Rockbot. However we feel they are limited in room creation, and no ability to influence the song list. Alt text

What's next for NextHit.io

Intergrate spotify to play the music and allow for the user to login to their spotify account to add their existing playlists.
Intergrate facebook intergration to share rooms to event pages.
Search for rooms via the hosts phone number or other unique identifier.
