Inspiration

In today's fast-paced digital age, maintaining a healthy diet is more important than ever. Research shows that 69% of people engage with digital platforms, and nearly half of them are interested in receiving nutrition information online (Bertrand et al., 2021). Additionally, 62% of consumers prefer food options that cater to their specific health needs, including dietary restrictions and allergies (International Food Information Council, 2023). With this growing demand for personalized nutrition, we wanted to create a solution that makes healthy eating accessible and easy for everyone.

What it does

Nutreazy is a user-friendly web platform that allows individuals to find and filter recipes based on their dietary restrictions and allergies. Users can search for healthy recipes, customize their preferences, and receive personalized meal suggestions tailored to their nutritional needs. The platform empowers users to make informed food choices effortlessly.

How we built it

Express.js: Handles the backend logic and API requests to OpenAI API.
React: Provides an interactive and responsive user interface and routing purpose.
Node.js: Powers the server and manages data flow between the frontend and backend.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing a robust filtering system to accommodate multiple dietary preferences was challenging.
Learning curve on some of the software and framework (Github and express)
Designing an interface that is both intuitive and comprehensive.
