Inspiration

You plan an international trip and research tasty foods to try. When you arrive at the restaurant, you find yourself surrounded by other Americans and discover the food has been modified to cater to a Western palette. You leave disappointed and craving a more unique experience but don't know where to begin.

What it does

This app recommends authentic foods that represent the local culture of the city you plan to visit, and tells you where to find it.

Challenges we ran into

I originally wanted to generate a tour guide styled pamphlet with a short list of food recommendations filled with pictures, but it was difficult to generate a variety of entrees. Half the time the entree recommendations and photos were very similar.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I plan to use this app on my next trip.

What we learned

While testing this app, I learned about a few new dishes that I must try.
