Inspiration
We want to spend a couple of minutes clearing your head at soothing places. It's good for the mind, especially given today's demanding careers in tech and startups. We would like to show spots of 'zen' to everyone, to enjoy and benefit from them. Breath in, breathe out, then back into the rush with a clear head.
What it does
How we built it
We used datasets of geographical data such as green and water surfaces, noise, and air quality and calculated opportune places of high overall hygiene.
Challenges we ran into
Transforming the datasets to match geographically was a challenge, e.g. projection issues. Some data sets were not dense enough (air quality, very few measurement stations)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are enamored with what it does for whom. Leveraging Mapbox and react-map-gl to create serene map of your surroundings. Combining vector and raster data sets in order to detect candidates for places fitting our
What we learned
Experimenting with new technology is risky It's worth it going to sleep :)
What's next for Zenbox
O2 data for headcount; data unexpectedly unavailable during the hackathon Benches from Open Street Map; so people can sit down… Air quality data Available data from measurement stations too sparse
