Inspiration
We wanted to create a fun desktop pet that helps users manage tasks and track health. It's all about combining fun with functionality!
What it does
Oiia is a desktop pet that follows your mouse, plays animations, and makes sounds. It also has a todo list, notes, and period tracking features to help you stay organized.
How we built it
We used Python and PySide6 to build Oiia. The app has different parts for the pet, todo list, notes, and period tracking. We packaged it with PyInstaller so it's easy to run on any computer.
Challenges we ran into
We had some issues with the todo list and notes not looking right, and we had to figure out how to save and load data properly. Packaging the app with PyInstaller was tricky because we had to make sure all the files were included.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really happy with how Oiia turned out! It's fun to use and helps you stay organized. The pet follows your mouse and plays sounds, which makes it feel alive.
What we learned
We learned a lot about making desktop apps and how to handle user interactions. We also got better at debugging and packaging apps.
What's next for Oiia
We want to add more features and make Oiia even better. Maybe more animations and sounds, and more tools to help you stay productive!
