Inspiration
We decided to create OnMyTime because of our own lack of time management and habit of procrastinating. We wanted to create something that allowed individuals, especially students to generate the ultimate timetable around their day-to-day activities in a relatively fast time.
What it does
The app utilizes the Pomodoro technique. It accepts input from the user based on what activities they have to be completed then places them in a logical order on a timetable which would allow the brain to work at maximum ability. School subjects are placed in different categories and the app would then attempt to separate those under the same category to utilize all sections of the brain instead of overworking one. If necessary, the user would be given the option to edit the timetable to how they desire.
How we built it
The app was built with Visual Studio as a Windows Forms Application, and MySql using C# and Sql
Challenges we ran into
In trying to fix one bug, we unleashed an entire bug army. However, after a good amount of hours, no sleep, help from the mentors and other participants, we fixed them one by one.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a Windows App that functions well and carries out it's objectives despite being our first time especially with learning and using the software such as Visual Studio and MySql Workbench to assist us.
What we learned
As this was our first hackathon, both individually and as a team, we learnt how important it was to delegate different tasks to improve efficiency.
What's next for OnMyTime
Improving the User Interface and adding new features.
