Public transportation is extremely inefficient, particularly in low-income urban areas. The lack and inefficiency of public transportation in these areas contributes to additional congestion, increasing carbon emissions in cities and frustrating commute times. Individuals (primarily blue-collar workers) living in these urban-edge communities face economic challenges due to a lack of access to public transportation. OnRoads is a web application that addresses the issue of unreliable and unsustainable public transportation. OnRoads recommends solutions to public policymakers and corporations using a comprehensive machine learning model. To maximize people's access to public transportation, OnRoads' algorithm suggests installing e-scooter stations or bus stations in areas in need of public transportation. Our primary goal is to make it easier for people to use public transportation in order to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce traffic, make commuting safer, and provide economic opportunities to those in need.
