Parker is a free smartphone application that shows San Diego drivers available parking spaces on-street or in garages. The availability of parking spaces can be shown in real-time if sensors are installed as well (this is not necessary for the other features of the app to work). Information about pricing and policy is also displayed for each block or garage, so drivers know what to expect when they arrive. Once parked, drivers can set a timer to send them a notification when it's time to move their car, so they avoid getting a citation. Drivers may still forget where they parked, but Parker will guide them back to their car using a GPS map. Local garages or merchants with parking can sign up for free on ParkEdge.com to publish the locations of their garages on Parker and offer reservations and promotions as well. All this gets drivers to their destination and out of their cars so they can enjoy all the sights and sounds San Diego has to offer!
