Inspiration

The first day I got to UMASS, my friends and I went to the first frat party. We were super excited because we'd been hearing about how big of a party school UMASS was, but when we got in it was super mediocre. The music was too quiet and the vibes were just off. That happens almost everytime I go out, where sometimes we'll stumble across an amazing party, but usually we only hear about the good ones after they happen. So that's where I got the idea to make PartyRank, to increase access to information and honest reviews about the parties on campus.

What it does

It allows people to post parties that are going on and upcoming, with an easy like/dislike system to measure anticipation for an upcoming event or how good a live event is going. This gets super scored after the party to give it a rating, which is displayed on the hosts profile. This helps people decide what parties to go to, so that they don't go to a bad party at the beginning of the night and then are unable to get into any others.

How we built it

We used firestore to handle the backend of the app, and react native with javascript and css for the frontend.
