Blockchain technology inspires us to build a platform that decentralizes IP ownership, allowing researchers to raise funds through fractional investment and democratizing access to scientific innovation.

What It Does

PatentChain enables the tokenization of intellectual property rights.

Researchers can create patent tokens representing fractional ownership of their innovations.
Investors can buy, sell, or trade these tokens, creating a new funding stream for scientific research.
Smart contracts automatically enforce royalty distribution, ensuring transparency and fair revenue sharing.

How We Built It

Blockchain Layer: Implemented using Ethereum/Polygon for secure and immutable IP registration.
Smart Contracts: Developed in Solidity to manage token creation, ownership, and royalty payments.
Decentralized Storage: Utilized IPFS to store patent documentation securely.
Frontend: Built a user-friendly interface using React for researchers and investors to interact with the platform.
