Inspiration
- We have all had the experience of going to the doctor and not being able to remember important details about when our symptoms started and what they were. We realized that this is a common issue that may prevent people from getting the best care possible.
What it does
- It allows users to track their own symptoms or the symptoms of their patients by recording audio or entering text which then gets formatted by AI and stored in the database. A timeline of symptoms is visible in the app, and a report summary can be generated for the last week, the last 2 weeks, the last month, or the last 3 months.
How we built it
- MERN stack and OpenRouter for AI
Challenges we ran into
- Some of our team members had never built a project with React before, or used express.js for the backend which presented a learning curve that made it more time-consuming to debug issues.
- Having a lack of quality sleep and staring at a screen for long periods of time led to mental fatigue
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Integrating AI-powered features
- Creating a mongo database with seed data for local development
- Learning new technologies and improving our debugging skills
- Collaborating with each other using GitHub and planning
What we learned
- Software Engineering Principles
- Version Control
- Writing clean code
- Collaborating on GitHub
- React, Express, Vite, tailwind.css
What's next for Patiently
Continue adding features, making it more secure and user-friendly, and deploying it live with a database that can scale with actual users.
Built With
- express.js
- mongodb
- node.js
- openrouter
- react
- vite
