Inspiration
Current Budget Tracking Apps could provide more features to help users manage their finances in one place. Having everything in one place will encourage users to do tasks they don't want to do but will definitely help them on the long run.
What it does
Features Include:
- Purchase History / Budget Accountability
- Receipt Scanner
- Trip Planner
- Recipe Ingredient Search
How we built it
Frontend: We used a Next.js environment with React and Typescript.
Backend: Python that calls the Gemini API
Challenges we ran into
Both of us are new to connecting a backend to a frontend, so our biggest issues came from handling requests.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of what we accomplished in the span of 24-hours. Our application features worked exactly as expected and we learned the value of good planning and communication.
What we learned
This is my first time working with AI and I can already see the possible implementations for future projects.
What's next for Penny Pilot
We plan to enhance the app by allowing the scanner to scan grocery items as well, improving the trip planner, adding alerts when items in the shopping cart are on sale nearby, and adding more financial management features.
