Problem
Sometimes, people have trouble finding pets up to their accommodations and standards. Some may only be able to take care of hypoallergenic, smaller, or quieter breeds. Others would like to help out those friends that often get overlooked in shelters, like animals with disabilities, old age, and medical illnesses. However, it is time-consuming and difficult to seek out those specific standards in shelters.
Our Solution
Our team believes that a platform that will let you search for pets with specific requirements across multiple shelters is a much more efficient and helpful way to pet-find.
What it Does
PetPair is a website that accumulates all local shelter animals into one platform and search engine. As a user, you can search for a pet based on locations and keywords in the search bar. The search will take you to a list of pets that are relevant to your search, and you can go to their Pet Profile to get more information such as the shelter name, description, and pet name. You can then choose to adopt the animal after filling out a form.
Challenges we ran into
Since we are beginners, we were not able to fully complete the project to our standards before the deadline. There were technical issues that made it difficult to translate Figma designs into code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to get so much finished as complete beginners!
What's next for PetPair
We hope to continue developing and fine-tuning this website until it is functional and fully translates from the Figma design. We also hope to resize it so that our design can fit on any computer screen.
