Inspiration

Phishing is one of the top sources of data breaches in organizations. It is hard to detect and email security solutions are not always effective enough to block them. Browsers are used all the time and every site we visit can be potentially a phishing site. By implementing Pangeas domain intel solution, we can provide organizations with the ability to deploy a chrome extension to all their employees that will protect them against browsing to a phishing domain.

What it does

The PhishExt chrome extensions will make a domain intel lookup on every page visited. If the page is deemed to be suspicious or malicious, the page will be blocked.

How we built it

The chrome extension background script is listening to a new location event, meaning every URL change. Once it is triggered, a series of functionalities will make the request and determine the results.
